As the Division Chief for Cardiology and in conjunction with the Dyad Administrative leadership, incumbent shall provide innovative and dynamic leadership and will be responsible for driving operational performance, provider engagement, recruitment, strategic planning, analysis, and implementation of the infrastructure, processes, and systems to support effective and high-quality clinical care, education, and research, within the context of the Affiliation Agreement between Renown Health and UNR Med.
In this role, the incumbent will help to develop and oversee General Cardiology, Interventional Cardiology, Electrophysiology, Heart Failure, Cardiac Rehabilitation, Cardiac Imaging, and the Women’s Heart Center, as well as be held responsible for key initiatives in driving performance of these groups and meeting financial objectives for the organization.
Duties and Responsibilities:
• Direct, plan, and coordinate the work of the professional medical staff including physicians, physician assistants, and nurse practitioners including supervision and evaluation, training, and team building.
• Organize and attend departmental meetings and sub-specialty meetings to maintain effective communication.
• Ensure adequate and qualified staff to carry out program activities, including compliance with all Renown Health and UNR Med policies and regulatory requirements to support growth in clinical and academic programs for both organizations.
• Responsibility for the selection, hiring, orientation, training, coaching, and discipline of providers in the cardiovascular program.
• Responsible for the implementation, management, supervision, and evaluation of all activities of the program in accordance with national standards, evidence-based care, and / or regulatory requirements.
• Develop quality metrics and report on monthly, quarterly, and annual program statistics / outcomes data.
• Drive provider performance to meet productivity expectations and quality initiatives developed in conjunction with Renown Medical Group, UNR Med, and Renown Health.
• Participate in and assist in developing adequate compensation models as needed.
• Oversee clinical / peer chart review to ensure appropriateness of medical care delivered.
• Assist practice managers in developing policies, clinical program pathways, and clinic procedures.
• Support initiatives that will improve access, overall health, and reduce disparities in care for our communities and all Nevadans.
The Division Chief of Cardiology will report to the Chief Executive Officer of Renown Medical Group with strong alignment with Renown Health’s service line executive leadership.
This position does provide direct patient care.
