  • Vascular Surgery

Vascular Surgery A vascular surgeon operates on arteries and veins anywhere in the body where vascular disease may occur. The surgeons at Renown Institute for Heart and Vascular Health have extensive experience performing open surgical procedures to treat vascular disease cases that are considered too complex and therefore unsuitable for minimally invasive endovascular treatment. The wide variety of surgical cases we evaluate and treat gives our surgeons a depth of experience unparalleled by other physicians in the area. Our surgeons treat vascular disease with a high degree of accuracy, ensuring quicker recovery times and fewer complications. Some conditions a vascular surgeon may treat include: Blockage in Carotid Arteries Abdominal Aneurysms Peripheral Artery Disease (PAD) Non-healing wounds Circulation problems Vascular Surveillance Patients with established vascular disease often require intensive management that includes medications, surgery or further testing to guide their health. Vascular surveillance helps patients after treatment, ensuring they are healing well. It can also warn of potential circulatory problems or disease. Out multidisciplinary team works to not only manage vascular disease, but also to prevent its long-term progression. Vascular Surveillance Services Aorta Surveillance: Working with our surgeons, we have developed a system-wide imaging protocol to monitor patients with aortic aneurysms and dissections of the aorta in the best. Peripheral Artery Disease (PAD) Surveillance: Pain with walking or poor wound healing can be a result of a leg artery blockage. Imaging tests are used to diagnose and treat areas of concern. Cerebrovascular Disease Surveillance: Blockages in arteries can affect blood supply to the brain. Advanced imaging and testing provide an accurate diagnosis. Endovascular Aneurysm Repair (EVAR): This minimally-invasive procedure diverts blood flow away from an aneurysm, preventing it from expanding.
